BOARDS

All boards are made from locally sourced Canadian hardwoods, hand picked for detail and quality. Each piece of wood is inspected and selected by yours truly before taking them to my workshop in Portsmouth Village. Once unloaded, I take the time to carefully design the shape of each board,  ensuring the individual characteristics of each piece of wood are highlighted, and any unusable imperfections are removed. When the board is shaped and sanded to a smooth finish, they're oiled and waxed with my own Board Butter - a combination of food safe mineral oil and natural bees wax. The boards are then wrapped and delivered to the buyer, as each order is made to order. Custom engraving and size options are available, as well as wood colour and selection. Please contact me with any questions or requests!

BOARD

CARE

Time to tune up that board? It's easy!

1. Wash your board with a soapy sponge and rinse it off.

2. If there are knife marks you'd like to get rid of, wait for the board to be completely dry (likely overnight) and then sand it by hand or with an electric sander with 220 grit paper until the marks are gone.

3. If there are any stains that need to go, use baking soda or salt and lemon, to make a paste and scrub the stain. Leave the paste on the stain overnight. Repeat if necessary. Strawberries, blueberries, beats, etc are culprits of these stains. Personally, I think it adds to the patina of the board, but that's me!

4. Once you're happy with the surface, use your hands or a clean paintbrush to apply mineral oil to the board. Rub it into all sides of the board, top and bottom.

5. Wipe away excess oil with a paper towel or an old rag, and then apply Board Butter - Beeswax and Mineral Oil (I sell jars of it if you need some!) The more you buff, the better the board. Don't bother putting it on the bark if your board has bark, it'll just get stuck in the nooks and crannies.

6. If you just want to do a quick refurbish of your board, skip steps 1-4, and just rub board butter in.

And that's it!
